We are currently in the process of conducting some research studying how the current formats of NVC trainings facilitate the cultivation of empathy. Our research is currently underway, so we are unable to share any preliminary results at this time; but when we reach the study’s completion, which we intend to do within the next year, we will post our results here and on CNVC’s site.
Here are some other efforts to research and validate the effectiveness of Nonviolent Communication for addressing social and emotional learning needs:
- Marion Little’s Thesis, “Total Honesty/Total Heart: Fostering empathy development and conflict resolution skills. A violence prevention strategy”
- Mutual Education Giraffe Language in Kindergartens and Schools_Yugoslavia by Nada Ignjatovic Savic
- Nonviolent Communication Experimental Project in Primary Schools by Vilma Costetti
